When life gives you lemons
Original Photos
These images were edited for the final designs to compensate for the cloudy lighting. I wanted the lemons to be brighter. although they could have stayed bleak to depict the bad situation the juiced lemon embodies. I wanted a more optimistic poster, seeing the juiced lemon as an opportunity to make lemonade.

Spilt Milk
Original photos
I wasn't getting the back splash i wanted with the photos, possibly because of the lack of depth to the puddle or the thinnest of the milk. I did get some nice shots where the focus is on the stream of milk rather than the puddle. there was a really nice shot with the ripple in the milk just settling. plenty of shots with the beautiful splash detailing on the lino around the puddle. The photos i ended up using i have altered the white balance and exposure and so on. I needed to get some of the blue out without making the images too yellow. also i needed to darken them to get the black and white I wanted.

Here I have experimented with different typography and central images to find what worked best. I even tried incorporating the tick logo but i preferred the simple call to action. Everything else on the picture is black and white, so the logo being in colour stood out too much. The logo was meant to be secondary, in support of the message the image was sending. I changed the border from black to white to tie in with the see the bigger picture headline. The white border makes the image appear as a polaroid. See the bigger picture originated from the image where the focus is on the stream of milk pouring. the puddle on the floor isn't the focus, just as the money already being allocated is not the central focus of the flag debate.
